EAAF carried out a preliminary mission to East Timor to begin an investigation into the Santa Cruz massacre of 1991
In 2001, EAAF participated in forensic investigations into human rights abuses in East Timor under the auspices of the United Nations Serious Crimes Investigation Unit.
A seminar for East Timorese human rights organizations on the application of forensic anthropology to human rights investigations, conducted at the invitation of Amnesty International London Secretariat.
