Country Report: Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)
At the request of the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), and the United Nations Organization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUC), EAAF members conducted a preliminary forensic evaluation of human remains found at the MONUC Moroccan compound in Kisangani, DRC.
EAAF conducted a two-week mission to the Democratic Republic of Congo as members of a larger United Nations investigative team.
In April 1997, EAAF contracted with the United Nations Center for Human Rights to lead and coordinate an international forensic team in the Democratic Republic of Congo, or DRC (formerly Zaire). This forensic team was part of a larger U.N. mission mandated to investigate allegations of severe human rights violations committed mostly against refugees.
